Tejashwi Yadav booked in Maharashtra over ‘objectionable’ post on PM Modi

Gadchiroli (Maharashtra), Aug 23, 2025 – Former Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has been booked by Maharashtra Police after BJP MLA Milind Ramji Narote lodged a complaint against him.

• The complaint alleges that Tejashwi’s recent social media post targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “derogatory” and could disturb public harmony.

• Police have registered an FIR under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

• The alleged post was made ahead of PM Modi’s rally in Gaya, Bihar, where Tejashwi described it as a “shop of rhetoric” and mocked BJP’s promises.

• Reacting to the FIR, Tejashwi said: “I am not afraid. Speaking the truth is not a crime. If calling jumla a jumla is objectionable, then so be it.”
