Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University's V-C, wife die in road accident in UP's Mau

Professor Hareram Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of Nagpur-based Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, and his wife died when their car collided with a trailer truck parked on the road in Dohrighat police station area of Mau district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (August 23, 2025) morning.

Mau (UP), August 23:
A tragic road accident claimed the lives of Prof. Hareram Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (Nagpur), and his wife Badami Tripathi on Saturday morning in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district.

According to police, the couple was travelling from Nagpur towards their native place when their car collided with a stationary trailer truck near Kopaganj area. The impact was so severe that both Prof. Tripathi and his wife died on the spot.

Their driver, Vaibhav Mishra, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

Prof. Hareram Tripathi, a renowned Sanskrit scholar and academician, was widely respected for his contributions to Sanskrit literature and education. His sudden demise has shocked the academic fraternity across India.

The university community, colleagues, and students have expressed deep grief over the incident, remembering him as a dedicated teacher, researcher, and institution builder.
