Bigg Boss 19: Salman Khan’s Massive Fee Revealed, Show to Premiere August 30 on OTT
As Bigg Boss 19 gears up for its grand premiere on August 30, excitement among fans is building rapidly. While earlier reports confirmed that this would be the longest-running season of the popular reality show, new information has emerged regarding Salman Khan’s salary—and it’s making headlines.
According to sources, Salman Khan will earn between ₹120 to ₹150 crore for hosting the first three months (approximately 15 weeks) of Bigg Boss 19. This translates to nearly ₹8–10 crore per weekend episode. Unlike previous editions, this season will follow a digital-first format, with episodes streaming on JioCinema OTT before being telecast on Colors TV 90 minutes later.
The show will run for five months, with Salman Khan hosting the first three. After that, other celebrity hosts are expected to step in—Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor are among the names reportedly being considered for the remaining two months.
Though Salman charged a whopping ₹250 crore for Bigg Boss 18 and ₹200 crore for Bigg Boss 17 (both TV-only versions), his current fee reflects the hybrid OTT-TV structure and shared hosting duties. Notably, during Bigg Boss OTT 2, Salman was said to have received around ₹96 crore. Given this new format, his Bigg Boss 19 earnings mark a significant increase over his previous OTT appearance.
Bigg Boss 19 Format and Theme
This season is being treated as an extension of the OTT model and may feature a new tagline to reflect the platform-first approach. On July 21, Salman Khan reportedly shot the show’s promo, which revolves around a political theme, working from 2 PM to midnight for the shoot.
